Italian journalist Marco Barzaghi believes that even though Inter owners Suning are committed to maintaining control of the club, there could still be significant changes amid interest from the Saud fund PIF.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, as reported by FCInter1908, the journalist gave some reasons why the PIF could still be aiming to take over at the Nerazzurri, and emphasized that the denials by the current owners that a sale is on the way do not necessarily mean that they couldn’t be forced to sell eventually.

Reports emerged a few weeks ago that the PIF were on the verge of completing the purchase of the Nerazzurri from Suning, though denials swiftly follows in the press and from the owners.

The owners and directors at the club still firmly deny that their intention is to sell the club, while the PIF are currently occupied with the running of newly-acquired Newcastle United, but Barzaghi believes that there are clear indicators that they could still move to move into the Nerazzurri in some capacity.

“Suning has no intention of selling and yesterday Marotta confirmed this,” Barzaghi stated. “The only thing that appears to be the case at the moment is that PIF are disappointed with their arrival in England and have found themselves fighting against too many constraints in England.”

“Moreover, they have noticed how unattractive, despite their economic power, a club like Newcastle is, especially as they risk relegation,” he went on. “So, after seeing the official start of the new stadium project, they took over the Inter dossier. Obviously nothing is done and there is absolutely no PIF behind the renewals of Lautaro and Barella.”

He continued that “Something will probably happen, there are strange movements and this suggests that there are negotiations taking place. The words of Marotta and Zhang are very categorical, until everything id fone it will not be possible to give news or official confirmation.”

“PIF wants to reopen a negotiation with Inter,” Barzaghi concluded, “we’ll see if for a minority share or for the majority. They want to have another team besides Newcastle. Those who say everything is done in my opinion are not telling the truth.”
