Napoli defender Kostas Manolas is likely be back from injury in time to be available for selection when the Partenopei travel to Milan to face Inter in the first match back from the break.

This according to today’s print edition of Naples-based newspaper Il Mattino, who report that the Greek defender is still recovering from the muscle injury which he suffered during a Europa League clash with Legia Warsaw but that his recovery should take no more than two weeks.

Napoli coach Luciano Spalletti will face Inter for the first time with his new side since leaving the Nerazzurri at the end of the 2018-19 season, and he will hope to have his key defenders available to him as he looks to continue the Partenopei’s Scudetto push against the defending Italian champions.

Spalletti relied on Amir Rrahmani and Juan Jesus in the centre of defense for the Partenopei’s last match before the international break against Verona, as Kalidou Koulibaly was suspended following a red card against Salernitana.

For the head-to-head match against the Nerazzurri, however, the Napoli coach could have all of his defensive options available to him, with Koulibaly back from suspension and Manolas likely to be back from his injury.
