Former Inter striker Christian Vieri feels that the Nerazzurri could have scored more goals with the performance that they put in against AC Milan in the derby on Sunday.

Speaking on his Twitch channel, as reported by FCInterNews, the Nerazzurri legend praised the display put in by his former side as he gave his analysis of the match.

Inter did look to be the more proactive side in searching for a winning goal compared to their city rivals for much of the derby.

A late push by the Rossoneri saw the Nerazzurri looking tired and missing the contributions of key players who had left the pitch through injury, and in the end they had to hold on to make sure they could keep a point from the match.

However, for long spells especially during the first portion of the second half, it was Simone Inzaghi’s team which looked relentless as they searched for the winner, and Vieri feels that they would have been good value for one.

“I enjoyed it, the Nerazzurri created more and played better,”he stated. “Up to Saelemaekers hitting the post, I saw a beautiful Inter, they looked strong and could have scored 3-4 goals.”

And on Alexis Sanchez’s limited role at the end of the match, Vieri stated that “You’re fired up, you come onto the pitch and do your job. Then you talk to the coach in the locker room at the end of the match. Inzaghi respects the player, these are situations that arise naturally.”
