Inter midfielder Nicolo Barella has returned to training with the rest of the Italian national team following a minor muscle problem.

This according to to the Italian FA, who confirm that the 24-year-old is fit enough to train again in view of the Azzurri’s World Cup qualifier against Switzerland after suffering from the flexor strain that caused him to leave the pitch during Sunday’s Milan derby.

Barella had to come off midway through the second half of the 1-1 draw against the Rossoneri, with the player having indicated to the bench that he did not feel right to continue.

Tests indicated that the midfielder had picked up some fatigue to his flexor, but that it was not serious and that he would likely return to action quickly.

This looks to be the case as he has been cleared to return to training, although it remains to be seen if Azzurri coach Roberto Mancini will decide to use him in the Switzerland clash.
