Inter are planning to appeal the three-match suspension handed to striker Martin Satriano after a Primavera match against Roma.
This according to yesterday’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the club believe that the video of the incident for which the Uruguayan was sent off and received the suspension contradicts the report made by the match referee.
Satriano and Roma Primavera defender Raul Morichelli had squared up to each other after a challenge, and match referee Eugenio Scarpa interpreted the incident as a headbutt between the two.
For the incident, he gave each player a straight red card, and based on his match report, Satriano was given a suspension of three matches, while his opposite number Morichelli was suspended for four matches.
However, video of the incident that has circulated online after the match suggests that the contact was nowhere near as serious as Scarpa’s report suggests, and the Nerazzurri are hoping that they can have the suspension rescinded.
