Inter will be able to count on the South American internationals in their squad returning around the same time as the rest of the players on international duty during the break.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the South Americans in the team will not return at the eleventh hour as had been the case with the previous two international breaks.

During the September and October international breaks, Inter and other Serie A clubs were frustrated to have their South American players back very late, at some point only hours before the matches that they had to play.

Make-up fixtures for matches cancelled in the spring due to the pandemic meant that players in CONMEBOL national teams had three matches during the breaks, and so the players who returned either were not ready to play or had insufficient training time.

Argentines Lautaro Martinez and Joaquin Correa, Chileans Alexis Sanchez and Arturo Vidal, and Uruguayan Matias Vecino all returned late for the Nerazzurri during these past two breaks.

However, this time around there are no extra fixtures to play, and so the club can expect all of these players back in training by next Thursday.
