Lega Serie A are considering forming a media company to produce the league’s own content once again, after some early issues with DAZN carrying the matches.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the matter was discussed at a meeting between representatives of the clubs at a hotel in Milan yesterday.

DAZN has been the carrier of Serie A matches in Italy starting this season, with a deal in place that sees the media company partnered with the league until 2024.

In the first weeks of the season a number of technical issues with the streaming came up which have caused the league to reconsider their partnership with DAZN.

These issues have been resolved, but the league and the representatives of the clubs still feel that there is reason to rethink things.

The league could respond to the problems by deciding to form their own media company in order to broadcast the matches.

Meanwhile, the proposal from a consortium of CVC, Advent, and FSI is another possibility that is still looming in the background.
