Former Cagliari and Torino striker Franco Selvaggi anticipates that the Serie A match between Inter and Napoli next weekend will be a high-quality encounter.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Radio Marte, the 68-year-old predicted that the match will see both sides look to play attractive and proactive football and that the result could have Scudetto ramifications.

Inter are currently seven points behind the Partenopei in the table, but when they host them will have the chance to haul back the deficit to four points.

Moreover, both teams can be expected to play a high-tempo style of football and to look to take control of the match, and the fixture promises to be very watchable and competitive.

Former Nerazzurri boss has Napoli playing a similar expansive possession-based style as he tried to implement while at the Giuseppe Meazza, while the Nerazzurri have also scored and created chances prolifically under Simone Inzaghi.

“In the next round we have Inter-Napoli,” Selvaggi stated, “it will be a great match between two teams who play good football.”

“This match will tell us what role Napoli can play over the rest of the season,” he went on. “I believe that at the moment the Azzurri deserve to win the Scudetto, because they are the team that look the strongest and play the best. But also the two Milan clubs are in it.”
