Legendary former Juventus, Inter, and Italy coach Marcelo Lippi believes that the Nerazzurri are still very much in the title race in Serie A.

Speaking to Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb, the former coach gave the view that the Scudetto race still contains three teams, including Inter in the running.

The Nerazzurri have not gotten their Scudetto defense off to a bad start, but they sit seven points behind both city rivals AC Milan and Napoli at the top end of the Serie A table after twelve matches played.

Simone Inzaghi’s men missed out on the chance to reduce the deficit when they drew 1-1 against the Rossoneri last Sunday, but they will be able to potentially take points off of the Partenopei in their first match back from the international break.

Even if the result against Napoli this Sunday does not go Inter’s way, however, they still have the quality to go all the way, in Lippi’s view.

“It’s a three-way fight, for sure,” he stated. “Inter will also get back into it. Milan and Napoli must also keep them in mind.”
