Inter defender Federico Dimarco is favourite to start in the left-sided wing-back role for his club’s first match back from the international break, a massive Serie A clash with Napoli.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the 24-year-old will likely be given the opportunity to show his growth this season yet again as the Partenopei visit the San Siro.

The wing-back positions are two of the spots that look to be most up for grabs in the Inter starting eleven under coach Simone Inzaghi.

Dimarco is capable of filling in for Alessandro Bastoni on the left side of defense or for Ivan Perisic at left-wing-back, but the Corriere reports that the defender will likely start in the wing-back role while Matteo Darmian is set to start on the right side.

Meanwhile, Matteo Darmian will likely feature from the start for Napoli, with the former Nerazzurri winger a regular in the team under his former Inter coach Luciano Spalletti, and he will likely be hoping to prove himself against his old club.
