Inter will make another attempt to agree on a contract with wing-back Ivan Perisic based on the form that he has shown this season..

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the Croat’s performances have caused the Nerazzurri to reconsider allowing him to leave in the summer at the end of his current deal.

Perisic’s current contract is set to expire at the end of June 2022, and the Nerazzurri had reportedly been ready to allow him to leave when it runs out.

The club have only been ready to offer the 32-year-old a deal on significantly reduced financial terms from what he currently earns given his age.

An attempt had been made to agree an extension over the summer, but the wing-back did not accept any offers and reportedly wants a return to the Bundesliga next summer, while the club did not push too hard.

However, Perisic has been one of the Nerazzurri’s most consistent performers this campaign and the club are considering trying to reopen contract talks.

Finding an agreement on a new deal could be difficult, however, as the club are still not willing to offer close to the net €4.6 million that the player currently earns.
