Inter forward Alexis Sanchez is a serious target for French club Marseille, according to Italian journalist Niccolo Ceccarini.

Writing in his column for Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb, the journalist explains that Marseille coach Jorge Sampaoli wants to sign the Chilean in January, and that the Nerazzurri would look to replace him if he leaves and that Sassuolo’s Giacomo Raspadori would be the player targeted in this case.

Sanchez is still thought to be unhappy with the playing time that he currently received at Inter, and would be open to a move away in search of a more prominent role as a starter.

Marseille are a club reportedly tracking the 32-year-old, and Ceccarini reports that the French side are serious about bringing him in as soon as January.

The French side’s interest has not yet become concrete, however, and it remains to be seen if they could come to an agreement with the forward.

“The future of Alexis Sanchez remains in the balance,” Ceccarini writes. “Marseille’s interest in him remains strong.”

“Sampaoli would like to have him available as early as January but a lot will also depend on the player’s will,” he goes on. “If Inter look to replace him then the hottest name is that of Raspadori.”

“Sassuolo would like to postpone the discussion until June,” he writes of the Neroverdi striker, “but a solution could be to include another attacker in the operation. The profile could be that of Mulattieri, born in 2000, who the Nerazzurri loaned to Crotone over the summer.”
