Former Cagliari, Crotone, and Palermo striker Jeda believes that Inter are a way back in the Scudetto race, but that a victory in their first match back from the international break can give them a major lift.

Speaking to Italian news outlet FootballNews24, the 42-year-old gave the view that the title race in Serie A is still fairly balanced and that the Nerazzurri have a big opportunity when they face Napoli next Sunday.

Inter are seven points behind the Partenopei and city rivals AC Milan after twelve matches played, and will understand that they must play well and pick up points at an exceptional pace to get ahead of the top two..

However, a win next weekend would take the Nerazzurri within four points of at least one of their major rivals and would also make a big statement at the top end of the table.

Of the Scudetto race, Jeda stated that “Up to now it seems quite balanced, for the first time I don’t see a clear favourite. Inter, Milan, and Napoli seem to be in the best form, the next match between Inter and Napoli will be very important.”

“The Nerazzurri are a bit behind the other two,” he added, “but by winning the head-to-head match they could get back into the running.”
