Sassuolo CEO Giovanni Carnevali has categorically denied rumours that Neroverdi striker Giacomo Raspadori could join Inter during the January transfer window.

Speaking at the Social Football Summit in Rome, as reported by FCInterNews, Carnevalli stated that 21-year-old would not be leaving the club during the upcoming window.

Raspadori is a long-term target for the Nerazzurri, but rumours have emerged recently that he could join the club as early as January.

The young striker has been reported to be unhappy at his current club under manager Alessio Dionisi and could accordingly leave for the Nerazzurri, likely on loan initially with a view to a permanent deal.

However, Carnevali has made clear that this is not the case and that he fully expects that the player will stay in Emilia-Romagna until at least the end of the season.

The executive feels that the rumours are only gossip being spread by newspapers, but states that there is no basis for them in reality.

“I recently read in a newspaper that Raspadori does not have a good relationship with Dionisi,” he stated, “and even that we will let him leave on loan in January.”

He made clear that “This is absolutely not true, but I see these things printed on the front page and then we never talk about Sassuolo otherwise.”
