Former Inter and Napoli midfielder Salvatore Bagni believes that in the Serie A clash between his two former sides this Sunday, the Partenopei will come out on top in a high-scoring affair.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Radio Marte, Bagni gave his thoughts on the teams going into the match and also offered his prediction of a 3-2 final scoreline which will see league leaders Napoli triumph at the San Siro.

The Partenopei’s form has been stronger than Inter’s over the first twelve weeks of the season, though a draw with Hellas Verona before the international break suggests that there could be a drop-off on the way.

Both sides will see the match as having massive implications for their season, but Bagni believes that it will be Napoli who will edge out the encounter though he expects strong performances from both sides.

He suggested that it is up to Luciano Spalletti’s side to show their best form in the match, stating that “Napoli must recover their performances levels, which have dropped a bit.”

“They must catch their breath to be the Napoli they were and play the football they were earlier in the campaign,” he went on. “I am convinced that Napoli and Inter will each have to bring their best football, they will have too. For me, Napoli win 3-2.”
