Italian journalist Fabrizio Biasin does not expect Inter’s efforts to extend the contract of Marcelo Brozovic to be easy, but he still believes that there is optimism.

Writing in his column for TuttoMercatoWeb, Biasin outlined the situation around the Croat’s renewal talks and explained that there is still reason to believe that an agreement can be found.

Inter have made extending with Brozovic a major priority, with the 28-year-old a vital player in the team and his current deal expiring at the end of June 2022.

Talks have not yet taken off, but the player’s father and agent is expected to finally be in Milan to meet with club in the near future, according to Biasin.

These talks should quickly shed light on the midfielder’s future as the club look to secure him past next summer, and Biasin believes that there is still reason for hope despite the difficulties involved.

He writes that “As far as Brozo we’ll have to wait for his father to arrive in Milan, it won’t be easy but there is still some optimism.”
