Inter striker Lautaro Martinez suffered a bruise during the Argentine national team’s clash with Brazil last night, but not a serious injury.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who provide updates on the 24-year-old’s condition after he was substituted for the second half of the World Cup qualifier.

Martinez came off the pitch for the second half of the Albiceleste’s clash with Brazil, with Nerazzurri teammate Joaquin Correa coming on in his place for the rest of the match.

There were some worried about Martinez’s fitness as it was not immediately clear what the issue was that caused him not to be able to continue.

However, it can now be confirmed that the 24-year-old was only dealing with a minor bruise and that removing him from the pitch was only a precautionary measure.

It appears unlikely that Martinez will miss any time for his club after the break, although his condition is still being monitored and the Nerazzurri are awaiting further updates.
