Former Italian manager Fabio Capello has heaped praise upon Ivan Perisic and the entire Inter squad for their win over Shakhtar Donetsk on Wednesday night, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.

Speaking in the Sky Sport studios after the 2-0 victory, via FCInter1908, Fabio Capello explained that Ivan Perisic made the difference for Inter thanks to his pace and quality of delivery.

“This year Perisic makes the difference because he has pace and quality. The cross for the second goal was very good. He is doing wonderful things.”

There was also praise from the former Juventus, AS Roma and AC Milan manager for other players in the Inter squad such as Edin Dzeko, Hakan Calhanoglu and Matteo Darmian.

“Dzeko, on the other hand  scored two goals. There are so many names to praise for the win: Perisic, Calhanoglu, Darmian. Inter dominated the game, also thanks to the ridiculous defence of Shakhtar.”

Inter have had an excellent few days under Simone Inzaghi as they beat Napoli 3-2 at the weekend to move within our points of the top of the Serie A table.

Fabio Capello believes that having seen that match against Luciano Spalletti’s side and the win over Shakhtar Donetsk at San Siro, there is a clear style of play with Inter now.

“It was already seen against Napoli that Inter now has a certain style of play. They have many players who can decide the game.”
