Roma are set to join Inter in the race to sign Spezia midfielder Giulio Maggiore next summer.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the 23-year-old is a target for the Giallorossi as well as the Nerazzurri.

Maggiore is one of the main names on Inter’s shopping list as they look to refresh their midfield next summer, with the club likely to pursue young Italian players in the central positions with the contracts of Arturo Vidal and Matias Vecino running out.

The 23-year-old has impressed with Spezia since being promoted to Serie A in 2020, and his current deal with the Ligurians is set to run out at the end of June 2023.

Spezia value the player at around €8 million, and this could be considered a reasonable price to pay for him by Inter, but they are set to face competition from the Giallorossi for his signature.
