Inter could rely on the work of defender Aleksandar Kolarov to convince Eintracht Frankfurt wing-back Filip Kostic to join the club next summer.

This according to Italian news outlet Calciomercato.com, who suggest that the 36-year-old could have a key role to play in bringing his fellow Serb to the Giuseppe Meazza.

Kolarov has not had a major role to play on the pitch for the Nerazzurri since joining in the summer of 2020, with injuries restricting him to only a few appearances while he’s been behind a number of other players in the pecking order.

However, the Serbian defender has been a positive presence in the locker room, and he has also helped the club to convince former Giallorossi teammate Edin Dzeko to make the switch already, to great effect for the club.

Kolarov could play a similar role once again by convincing his national teammate Kostic to choose the Nerazzurri if he is to leave his current club next summer.

Kostic is one of the priority targets to reinforce the left wing-back role with Ivan Perisic potentially set for an exit next summer when his contract runs out, and Inter could be looking to Kolarov to make sure they get their man.
