Inter wing-back Matteo Darmian is back in partial training ahead of the Nerazzurri’s Serie A clash with Salernitana on Friday.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, who report that the 31-year-old is close to returning to fitness from his thigh injury and that it remains to be seen if he’ll be ready to be in the squad to face Salernitana.

Darmian had to come off the pitch during the second half of the Nerazzurri’s match away against Venezia with a thigh problem, which has caused him to miss the club’s past few matches.

He is close to returning to fitness, however, and today completed part of a normal training session along with the rest of his teammates, and then worked on an individual training program for the rest of the session.

It remains to be seen if the wing-back will be fully fit in time to make his return to the pitch when the Nerazzurri travel to Salerno later this week.
