Former Bayern Munich and Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves believes that Inter striker Lautaro Martinez is a player who would adapt very well to the Premier League.

Speaking to UK broadcaster BT Sport, Hargreaves agreed with Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp’s assessment that Martinez is one of the “most exciting strikers in Europe.”

Martinez has grown into the Inter team since his arrival in the summer of 2018, and by the time the club won the Scudetto last season he had established himself as a key player in attack.

The Argentine’s strike partner from last season Romelu Lukaku was sold to Chelsea in the summer, but he has continued to play a vital role in the Nerazzurri’s attack.

Hargreaves believes that Martinez would fit in well to life in the English top flight, and also considers him to be one of the player who can most hurt Liverpool when they face Inter in the Champions League round of sixteen.

“He partnered well with Romelu Lukaku,” Hargreaves stated of Martinez. “He’d be perfect for the Premier League.”

He went on that “He will certainly pose a threat to Liverpool.”
