Inter are interested in bringing in Atalanta striker Luis Muriel during the January transfer window, but they will have to compete with AC Milan for his signature.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Libero, who report that the Colombian is on the Nerazzurri’s radar for attacking reinforcements should Alexis Sanchez leave the club.

Muriel hasn’t featured regularly for La Dei this campaign after he enjoyed scintillating form last season, and he appears to be firmly behind Duvan Zapata in the pecking order at the Bergamo-based club.

The striker could leave during the January transfer window in search of more regular football, and Inter would consider bringing him in.

The Nerazzurri have rarely had a full complement of attackers available at one time this season, with the likes of Lautaro Martinez, Edin Dzeko, Alexis Sanchez, and Joaquin Correa all having missed time through injury.

Sanchez could also leave the club during the January window, and should the Chilean depart then the club are likely to sign a forward to replace him.

Genoa’s Felipe Caicedo is one serious possibility, with the Ecuadorian ready to reunite with former Lazio coach Simone Inzaghi at Inter.

Muriel is another serious possibility, with the Nerazzurri ready to move for him should he decide to leave Atalanta during the window.

The Rossoneri would also be interested in signing Muriel, however, and Inter would have to go head to head with their city rivals to sign the Atalanta striker.
