Former Inter goalkeeper Gianluca Pagliuca believes that Bayern Munich and the teams from the Premier League will present the biggest difficulties to the Nerazzurri in Europe.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Centro Suono Sport, Pagliuca predicted that the Nerazzurri could struggle against these five sides in particular in the knockout rounds of the Champions League.

Inter have been in blistering form in Serie A, winning seven games on the bounce to surge to the top of the table in recent weeks.

However, the Champions League presents a different challenge, and the form of teams like Bayern and Manchester City will be seriously worrying for the Nerazzurri.

Liverpool are another of the teams who look to be among the favourites for the competition based on their domestic form as well as their dominant progression from their Champions League group, and they will be the Nerazzurri’s first big test when they meet in the round of sixteen.

Pagliuca stated his view that “The Premier League sides and Bayern Munich are very strong, they are the ones who Inter are likeliest to struggle against.”
