Former AC Milan striker Jon Dahl Tomasson believes that AC Milan forward Rafael Leao could be the player who Inter most have to worry about in this evening’s derby clash in Serie A.

Speaking to Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, the 45-year-old emphasized how the young Portuguese attacker could be the key danger man for the Rossoneri, and the player who Inter must work hardest to stop.

Inter will be looking to control the tempo and possession in this evening’s derby, but at the same time they will also be mindful of not leaving too much space in behind for their city rivals to take advantage of.

The Rossoneri have looked potent on the break all season, and the form of Leao has been a key aspect of this.

The 22-year-old will make life difficult for the Nerazzurri’s defenders, and finding ways to neutralize his threat could prove to be the key to winning the match for Inter.

“I think that Leao will make the difference,” Tomasson said, “he has incredible potential.”

He went on that “The work that Pioli’s done has impressed me. If Milan are back at the top, it owes much to what he’s done.”

“Let’s remember where the team was when he arrived, in midtable,” he emphasized. “With the help of two leaders, Ibra and Simon, he turned Milan around. So the young players managed to emerge.”
