Inter defender Stefan de Vrij’s muscle injury picked up against Hellas Verona is not serious and will not require any more tests.

This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it, who report that the Nerazzurri’s medical team have determined that the Dutchman will not need to undergo any more tests on the thigh problem.

De Vrij had to come off at half-time in yesterday evening’s 2-0 Serie A win over Hellas Verona, with the 30-year-old having felt a thigh strain.

This was largely done as a precaution, although it was not yet clear how serious the problem was and whether it would be something that would rule him out of any number of matches over the remainder of the season.

However, signs have been positive and the tests have determined that the injury is not serious, and the defender could make his return to the pitch in time to play against Spezia on Friday.
