Inter could be picking up points at a Scudetto-winning pace based on the precedent of their recent Serie A title wins.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who highlight how the last three times the Nerazzurri had managed 69 points after 32 matches played they went on to win the title.

Inter kept their pursuit of the Scudetto in their own hands with a win, with the three points meaning that even though they remain behind AC Milan in the table after the Rossoneri’s win over Genoa, their game in hand means that they’re in control.

The 69-point mark is one that had been reached when the Nerazzurri won the Serie A title during the 2006-07, 2007-08, 2008-09, and last season, the 2020-21 season.

Inter still have plenty of work to do if they are to reach a points total which will see them clear of the Rossoneri and Napoli at the end of the season, but they will feel that they are basically on track.
