Empoli defender Fabiano Parisi has said that he is focused on beating Inter on Friday rather than focusing on his future, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Speaking during an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, Fabiano Parisi was asked about his future and some of the other Empoli players who have been linked with moves to bigger clubs.

He stressed that everyone is focused on winning matches for Empoli rather than anything else.

“No, we don’t think about our future, we are focused on the present. Then, of course, being linked to the big teams is stimulating and rewarding. But you have to keep your feet on the ground and think only of the next match.”

He went on to say that he wants to get revenge for the game against Inter at San Siro that relegated Empoli to Serie B two seasons ago.

“I want to end the season well, perhaps avenging that last time in Serie A against Inter at San Siro, which cost Empoli relegation. It would be a gift for our fans.”

Fabiano Parisi labelled Alexis Sanchez as the Inter player that impressed him the most when the two teams last met.

“Alexis Sanchez. In the first game against Inter he really impressed me: explosive, technical, powerful in the legs and magical in the feet, he does everything at a crazy speed.”

Playing on the left side, Fabiano Parisi will be up against Denzel Dumfries on whom he said: “He is one of the best in the role, it will be exciting to try and challenge him.”

Inter knocked Empoli out of the Coppa Italia this season in extra time and on that game, Fabiano Parisi said: “I was injured, but my teammates put in a great performance. Too bad for that goal by Ranocchia in the 94th minute, we went very close.”
