Inter endured a week of mixed emotions in their quest for Scudetto redemption.

A horrible 2-1 reversal in Bologna on Wednesday night thanks to Ionut Radu’s calamity saw Milan take the lead in the race for the title.

However, a win in Udine helped lift the mood amongst fans heading into the final three fixtures.

Here is what we picked up on from this week at Inter HQ.

1) Andrei Radu Must Bounce Back Quickly

It isn’t an exaggeration to say that Ionut Radu’s mistake against Bologna this week could single-handedly cost Inter the title.

His horror error could see his career and his relationship with Inter fans head the way of the gutter, similar to Loris Karius’ situation at Liverpool.

His team mates were supportive on the night and have since come out in support which has been massive.

However, with Handanovic returning to the line up by weekend, it may be unlikely that we see Radu again soon or in fact ever again in Nerazzuri colours.

Sooner he gets back on a football pitch and in between the sticks though the better in order to build himself up again and give his career a jump start.

2) Nicolo Barella Injury Gives Chance To Vecino To Come Clutch One Last Time?

Roberto Gagliardini is not the answer to any question anyone ever makes about Inter’s midfield.

So with Barella injured potentially, surely this means the last dance of Matias Vecino?

Sure he has been a bit part player this year despite being fit most of the year but he should surely be given the nod given Arturo Vidal’s lack of fitness of late.

Vecino could be a good link between midfield and attack as Inter seek goals knowing they must win every game from now until the end of the season.

3) Edin Dzeko Must Be Replaced If Inter Are To Progress Next Term

There has been talk this term all about the idea of Gianluca Scamacca or even a return for Romelu Lukaku.

This is sometimes not that needs giving serious consideration as Inter are severely lacking a quality attacking focal point.

Edin Dzeko has done a great job despite his advancing years and can certainly be said to have repaid the faith shown in him by the Inter higher ups.

If Inter are to progress into a side capable of winning the league next term and pushing forward in Europe, they need a man in his prime.

Since Christmas, Dzeko has looked a little weary and tired and much more ineffective.

Sure budget may come into Inter’s thoughts but a true number 9 has to be a priority.

4) Joaquin Correa Looking Lost.

Joaquin Correa gives Inter more balance and looks tidy at times but my goodness has he flattered to deceive.

Treatment table issues combined with a lack of grinta in his game, the ex-Sevilla player has proved something of a dud.

Just the four goals scored over two games and a lack of any sort of sign that that might change makes it difficult to see Joaquin Correa being of much use in the last few games.

Yes he makes Inter look more fluid under Inzaghi as opposed to Dzeko but he must start scoring more goals or providing more of a goal threat to prove he isn’t wasted business.

5) Near Perfection Required

Inter have to be perfect and still rely on luck now to retain their title.

The so called free hit and game in hand against Bologna resulted in disaster, meaning Milan now have their future as champions in their hands.

With every bit of luck heading their way too it appears that it maybe written in the stars that they beat Inter to the Scudetto.

Inter must win their last three now and hope for a favour from either Verona, Sassuolo or Atalanta.

One last push. Forza Inter.
