Empoli midfielder Kristjan Asllani feels that Inter are the strongest side in Serie A after facing them yesterday.

Speaking to EmpoliTV, Asllani gave the view that his team had been unable to get a result against the Nerazzurri because they were up against the most formidable team that the Italian top flight has to offer.

Inter had already faced Empoli twice this season before yesterday’s meeting, once in Serie A and once in the Coppa Italia round of sixteen.

The first meeting had been a relatively straightforward win for the Nerazzurri whilst in the cup they needed a late equalizer from Andrea Ranocchia and then extra time to get past the Tuscans’.

Newly-promoted Empoli are capable of giving anyone in Serie A match, which they certainly showed when they raced to a 2-0 lead early on against Inter, though in the end the Nerazzurri came back to earn an emphatic 4-2 win.

“We played an incredible half-hour,” Asllani said, “then the strongest team in the league came out. Too bad, we gave it our all, then the episodes went in their favour.”
