Inter are ready to accelerate their pursuit of Empoli midfielder Kristjan Asllani during the summer transfer window.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that making progress in talks to sign the Albanian will be one of the Nerazzurri’s early priorities this summer.

Asllani has been identified as Inter’s primary target to provide a backup to Marcelo Brozovic in their squad ahead of next season, with the 21-year-old having highly impressed them with his half a season as a starter for Empoli and still having room to grow.

There is work to be done to convince the Tuscans on a sale of the midfielder, however, and the Nerazzurri will not waste time and have made doing so one of their first orders of business.

After the extension of coach Simone Inzaghi’s contract is made official, Inter will move on to trying to make progress on a deal for Asllani in the coming days.
