Manchester United could move for Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni this summer, with incoming head coach Erik Ten Hag particularly keen on the 23-year-old.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the Dutch tactician’s admiration of Bastoni is a driving force in his team’s pursuit of the defender, whose asking price would be absolutely no lower than €60 million.

Bastoni could be the player who Inter allow to leave this summer as they will have to sanction a big name sale in order to bring in a major transfer fee, and interest in his signature has already emerged from the Premier League, particularly from Antonio Conte’s Tottenham.

However, United could also be ready to make their move for the 23-year-old, with Ten Hag starting to firm up plans to reshape the team in his image during the transfer window, and having identified the Nerazzurri defender as an ideal player to reinforce the backline.
