Udinese Sporting Director Pierpaolo Marino has issued an update on reported Inter target Destiny Udogie, who he does not expect to leave his club during the summer transfer window.

Speaking to Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport in an interview published in today’s print edition, Marino explained that Udinese are not planning to sell the 19-year-old despite significant transfer interest, and also predicted that Inter will make good signings under Beppe Marotta.

Udogie has emerged as one of the Nerazzurri’s major targets to replace Ivan Perisic on the left, as the young wingback meets their criteria of a young Italian player with the scope to improve over the coming seasons.

Moreover, other top teams in Serie A have also reportedly been tracking the 19-year-old, particularly Juventus.

However, if Marino’s words are anything to go by, a move for Udogie could be difficult as his current club have no intention of letting go of him during the summer transfer window.

“It’s difficult to see Udogie leaving this summer,” he said. “We’re convinced that if he stays with us for another season we’ll have a clearer idea of his value, which is difficult to determine for such a young player after just one season.

Marino also spoke about the transfer market, stating that “I expect that Beppe Marotta, with all of his imagination, will make some signings that will amaze us.”
