Inter have agreed terms with Empoli midfielder Kristjan Asllani on a five-year deal for next season.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that the Albanian is set to sign a five-year contract with the Nerazzurri which will see him earn a net of €1.2 million per season.

Inter have long had Asllani identified as their priority option to back up Marcelo Brozovic in the squad next season, based on the young midfielder’s performances over the second half of last season.

The 20-year-old has the right profile to slot in when Brozovic is injured, suspended, or needs a rest, something which the team lacked last season and which was exposed when they had to do without Brozovic, and also has significant room to grow.

The Nerazzurri have been pushing for the signing of Asllani, and apart from being closer than ever to having an agreement with his club on a deal, they also already have a personal agreement with the player.
