Inter’s signing of Raoul Bellanova from Cagliari to take the place of Ivan Perisic in their squad will give the club space in the wage bill to use on other signings.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the 22-year-old’s gross wages will cost the club less than €2 million compared to the nearly €10 million that they spent on Perisic’s wages.
Bellanova is all set to join Inter on an initial €3 million paid loan with a €7 million purchase obligation after the Nerazzurri have found total agreement with the player as well as with Cagliari.
In Bellanova’s first campaign with the club he will earn around €900,000 net per season, which will cost the Nerazzurri under €2 million in total for the gross amount.
While the 22-year-old is not a direct positional replacement for Perisic, he will reinforce the wingback positions in place of the Croat, and accordingly the savings on wages can be put towards the goal of slashing the wage bill while still accommodating major signings.
