Juventus captain Leonardo Bonucci feels that Inter are the strongest team in Serie A following the arrival of Romelu Lukaku back on loan from Chelsea.

Speaking to Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport in an interview published in today’s print edition, Bonucci gave his thoughts on the strength of the teams at the top of Serie A for next season, and suggested that the Belgian’s return as well as Milan Skriniar potentially staying makes the Nerazzurri the most formidable side.

Lukaku has been the most eye-catching signing at Inter this summer, although they have done quite a bit of work throughout the squad to try and reinforce a team which already finished last season on 84 points and with the best attack in Serie A.

Meanwhile, Juventus have also done quite a bit of work on their squad, adding the likes of Angel Di Maria and Paul Pogba on free transfers before signing Torino defender Bremer from under the noses of Inter.

For Bonucci, though, the Bianconeri’s signings have not been enough to compete with Lukaku being back at Inter, with the defender stating that “I think the strongest team is Inter because they’ve brought back Lukaku, who can make the difference, although I’m intrigued by Dybala at Roma because he can become an icon there.”

Regarding the favourites for the Serie A title, he said that “Milan will start with the pressure to defend their title, Inter will be the most complete if they keep Skriniar, we’re right there in it, and then I think Lazio will be ones to watch.”
