Former Inter defender Daniele Adani has said that AC Milan are aware of their strengths and Inter must not be lazy during the derby, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Speaking during an interview with Tuttosport today, Daniele Adani previewed the biggest match of the weekend which kicks off at 18:00 local time on Saturday at San Siro.

He stressed that the Rossoneri are aware of what they do well and he says Inter will need to be at their best if they are to stop Stefano Pioli’s side from taking all three points.

“Milan are very aware of their strength. It will take the best Inter to be able to counter it. Inter will not be able to concede what they have done in this month and a half. Pioli’s team has many solutions to strike and nothing must go wrong at the back if Inzaghi wants to get a positive result.”

Daniele Adani had some criticism for the number of goals that the Nerazzurri have conceded so far this season: “Inter are a physical team and with Lukaku even more so and if you’re not at your best you can struggle.

“Then they conceded a few too many goals. They have to respect their footballing credo, only in this way will they return to the top and be able to fight for the Scudetto until the end.”

Inter brought in Francesco Acerbi on deadline day to add more depth to the squad and Daniele Adani feels that his experience can be important for Inter.

“In the moment that you don’t give up Skriniar to PSG, that you give up so much money you have done a strong thing, you have made a choice of continuity.

“We needed an experienced man in the rotation and Acerbi is one. I think it will be fundamental to evaluate those who didn’t leave but had the chances to do so. I’m thinking of Dumfries, I’m thinking of Skriniar and especially Gosens.”

He then stressed that Inter cannot get lazy in this game as there are talented Rossoneri attackers who can punish them: “Inter must not get lazy. Inter is a team that usually plays the game but can suffer some restarts because the Nerazzurri defence is very experienced but not very fast. Players like Leao, like De Ketelaere, must be ready for speed and technique.”
