Barcelona head coach Xavi believes that if his team plays in the way they did in the first half of their 1-0 win over La Liga yesterday evening they will be able to beat Inter on Wednesday.

Speaking in a press conference after that match, as reported by FCInterNews, the Barcelona coach also admitted that is his team play they did after the interval then getting a victory in the Champions League group stage match will prove much more difficult.

Barcelona and Inter will both see Wednesday’s match as one of the most significant challenges of the season.

Both of the two sides will feel that they need to be at their best if they are to get the result that they want from the match.

Inter managed to defeat Sassuolo 2-1 on Saturday, though it was not necessarily the most convincing performance, whilst Xavi admits that his team were not at their best for the full ninety minutes to defeat Celta.

“If we play like we did in the second half, we won’t beat Inter,” the coach said, “but if we play like in the first half, we will.”

“I’m already focused on the Nerazzurri,” he added.
