Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni and striker Lautaro Martinez are set to be rested in tomorrow evening’s Champions League match against Bayern Munich.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that neither of the duo will be part of the starting eleven to face the German champions.

Inter do not need to get a result against Bayern tomorrow, as the outcome of the group is already mathematically certain, with the Bavarians finishing top of the group and the Nerazzurri guaranteed of second spot.

Accordingly, coach Simone Inzaghi is set to rest some key players in view of the important matches to come in Serie A.

In defense, Bastoni is set to be left out of the starting eleven to keep the 23-year-old fresh for Sunday’s Serie A clash with Juventus.

Meanwhile, the Gazzetta reports that Martinez will also be given a rest, although this could be put in doubt by the fact that the club has confirmed that Romelu Lukaku has suffered a thigh strain which should cause him to miss tomorrow’s match.
