Inter striker Romelu Lukaku isn’t planning to go on vacation after Belgium’s elimination from the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the 29-year-old will instead return to training with Inter after just a short break.

Lukaku could not prevent Belgium from crashing out of the World Cup in his second half appearance in yesterday evening’s goalless group stage draw with Belgium.

The striker was naturally very disappointed after the match, making no effort to hide his emotions in the aftermath of a match that saw the Red Devils fail to reach the knockout rounds of international football’s biggest tournament.

This has only made Lukaku keener to get back to work, according to the Gazzetta.

The Nerazzurri striker will take a day or two at most to rest up after yesterday’s match, the newspaper reports, and then wants to get right back on the training pitch.

Lukaku feels that given that he was still nowhere near his physical best in yesterday’s match, he can hardly afford to take another serious break from training.

Accordingly, the striker should be with the Nerazzurri’s squad on their training retreat in Malta where he will try to continue building up his condition in the month to go ahead of the team’s return to Serie A in January.
