Lazio striker Ciro Immobile feels that Inter coach Simone Inzaghi has had a greater influence on him than simply the normal player-coach relationship.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster SportItalia at the launch of the Starcks cryptocurrency platform, as reported by FCInterNews, the 32-year-old gave his thoughts on the influence that the current Nerazzurri has had on him during his five years in charge at the Biancocelesti.

Inzaghi has now been Inter coach long enough to start leaving his imprint on the Nerazzurri.

However, the 46-year-old’s legacy at Lazio remains a strong and lasting one.

Inzaghi and Immobile had worked together for five seasons in Rome, between 2016 and 2021, and the striker finished as top scorer in Serie A during two of those campaigns.

Not only this, but the influence of the coach on Immobile went beyond strictly the pitch.

The striker gave his thoughts on how working with Inzaghi and forming a personal connection has affected him.

“Inzaghi is a very different person from Maurizio Sarri,” he compared the Nerazzurri coach to the man who succeeded him at Lazio.

“Our relationship was very important to me, and we still talk today.”

Immobile added that “Our relationship went beyond the normal one between a player and coach.”
