Inter have blocked the call-up of young attacking midfielder to the Argentine Under-20 national team for the Copa America which starts next month.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInter1908, who report that the Nerazzurri have declined to release the 17-year-old to the Albiceleste’s squad for the tournament, whilst his brother Franco also hasn’t been released.

The Under-20 Copa America will begin on January 19, and run until February.

Argentina coach Javier Mascherano had hoped to have both Valentin and Franco Carboni at his disposal for the tournament.

However, the Nerazzurri have decided not to release Valentin from his club duty to join up with the Albiceleste’s squad at the tournament.

Meanwhile, Carboni’s brother Franco is currently on loan at Cagliari from Inter, and the Sardinians have also blocked his call-up.

Juventus fullback Matis Soule, Manchester Untied winger Alejandro Garnacho, and Lazio winger Luka Romero are among the players who have also had their call-ups blocked for Argentina.
