Former Inter, Roma, and Cagliari midfielder Radja Nainggolan feels that current Nerazzurri striker Edin Dzeko is the best centre-forward he has ever played alongside.

Speaking to Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport in an interview published in today’s print edition, via FCInterNews, the Belgian highly praised the 36-year-old Nerazzurri striker’s quality and completeness as a striker.

Nainggolan’s and Dzeko’s paths never crossed at Inter, but the pair did spend several seasons together at Roma.

It was with the Giallorossi that the Bosnian really built his reputation within Italian football.

Joining the capital club from Manchester City in the summer of 2015, Dzeko proved himself a reliable source of goals and adeptly led the line in the six seasons before he joined Inter in 2021.

Three of these were spent with Nainggolan in the team, and for his part the Belgian was hugely impressed with what he saw.

“He’s the best striker I’ve ever played with,” the midfielder said of Dzeko.

“He knows how to do everything and will be able to adapt to playing alongside Lukaku,” he added.

“But watch out for my friend Juan Jesus,” Nainggolan added, “he seems like nothing more than a backup defender, but under Spalletti he transforms, and he’s in very good form.”
