Inter are increasingly optimistic that striker Edin Dzeko will commit his future to the club and remain beyond the end of the season.

According to Italian television broadcaster Sport Mediaset, and as reported by FCInterNews.it, the Nerazzurri are ready to intensify negotiations with the Bosnia and Herzegovina international next month, as he approaches the final months of his current contract.

Dzeko currently earns €5 million per season, and Inter are ready to offer him a one-year extension that would see his wages drop to €4m, plus bonuses.

There is confidence that the former Manchester City striker wants to stay at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza and would be willing to accept those terms, with a positive outcome from the upcoming negotiations expected.

The 36-year-old has proven himself to be a useful option for coach Simone Inzaghi this season, particularly in light of the form and fitness issues of Romelu Lukaku, whilst he is also considered a valuable member of the dressing room.

Dzeko joined Inter from Roma on a free transfer in 2021 and has scored 27 goals in 73 appearances for the Nerazzurri.
