Defender Francesco Acerbi and wingback Matteo Darmian are both set to start for Inter in Wednesday evening’s Supercoppa Italiana match against AC Milan.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that both of the pair are set to retain their places in the starting eleven from Saturday’s Serie A win over Hellas Verona.

Italians Acerbi and Darmian have established themselves as first-choice in the eyes of Inter coach Simone Inzaghi over Dutch duo Stefan de Vrij and Denzel Dumfries for the time being.

Both of the pair put in excellent performances in the Nerazzurri’s Serie A win over Napoli at the start of this month, and their form has kept up with this in subsequent matches.

According to the Corriere, both of Acerbi and Darmian will continue to be trusted in the starting eleven as the Nerazzurri go in search of their first piece of silverware for the season on Wednesday.
