Inter midfielder Kristjan Asllani could start in this evening’s Serie A match against Empoli.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that there is a chance of the 20-year-old starting against his old side if Hakan Calhanoglu is given a rest.

Inter coach Simone Inzaghi is not set to make many changes compared to the starting eleven which beat AC Milan in the Supercoppa Italiana last week.

In midfielder, Marcelo Brozovic is still out, however, and the coach could decide to leave Calhanoglu out of the starting eleven in order to give the Turk some rest.

If Calhanoglu doesn’t start, then it will be Asllani who comes in for him to play against his former team Empoli.

Meanwhile, the Corriere reports that the coach is considering starting Denzel Dumfries and Stefan de Vrij against the Tuscans, ahead of Matteo Darmian and Francesco Acerbi respectively.
