Inter showed a good reaction to last week’s defeat to Empoli as they beat Cremonese 2-1 in Serie A yesterday.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Corriere della Sera, the Nerazzurri were solid and had put the defeat behind them, although there were still some criticisms.

After Monday’s 1-0 defeat to Empoli, a victory was crucial and it was delivered thanks to striker Lautaro Martinez, who was ably assisted by partner Edin Dzeko.

However, there were concerns about the lack of intensity by the team, whilst the regularity at which the Nerazzurri concede in away games is also cause for worry.

David Okereke had put Cremonese ahead early in the game before a Martinez brace, and it was argued that Inter were reliant on the Argentina international to keep them in the hunt for a late challenge for the Serie A title.

Inter must now turn their attention to the Coppa Italia, as they face in-from Atalanta on Tuesday.
