Inter defender Milan Skriniar certainly will not wear the captain’s armband again for the Nerazzurri as the reception from the fans could risk becoming negative.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the mood of Inter supporters is starting to become close to turning on the former Sampdoria defender.

During Inter’s Serie A clash with Empoli, fans at the San Siro gave Skriniar a respectful reception even after the 27-year-old’s shock sending-off.

However, the events that have emerged over the past week, including the interview with the player’s agent who spoke openly about a desire to leave, has changed things.

According to the Gazzetta, there are questions among Inter supporters about the sincerity of some of Skriniar’s recent statements professing commitment to the club and the fans, in light of the fact he is now perceived to be pushing for an exit.

Skriniar’s clear intention to leave Inter has been received by the fans, and it remains to be seen what the reaction will be.

The Gazzetta suggests that this will unfold over the coming weeks and months should Skriniar stay at the club until the end of the season.

However, one thing that is certain is that the 27-year-old will not wear the captain’s armband again as he has been regularly doing since club captain Samir Handanovic dropped to the bench earlier this season.
