Former Inter midfielder Stephan Dalmat feels that leaving the Nerazzurri is the biggest regret that he has from his career in the game.

Speaking to French news outlet Le Parisien, via FCInterNews, the Frenchman explained that the lack of a good relationship with former Inter coach Hector Cuper was one of the main reasons that he decided to leave.

Former Lens, Marseille, and Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Dalmat joined Inter from PSG during the summer of 2001, spending three seasons at the club.

The former midfielder left to join Tottenham Hotspur on loan during the 2003-04 season before making the switch to Toulouse on loan in 2004, and then leaving permanently in 2005.

Dalmat’s time at the club coincided with the tenure of former coach Cuper, and he admits that an ability to really get along with the Argentine coach was a big part of the reason why he ended up leaving when he did.

Asking what he considers his biggest regret in his career was, Dalmat had no doubt, replying “Leaving Inter.”

“I had no bond with Cuper, but I should have been more patient,” he added.
