Inter midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan admitted that he is suffering after featuring in the 3-1 win over Udinese in Serie A this evening, but it was worth it for the win.

The former Armenia international scored the second of the Nerazzurri’s goals to put them back in front in the second half at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, as Simone Inzaghi’s side moved three points clear in second place in the table.

In an interview with Italian television broadcaster Sky Sport Italia after the final whistle, and as reported by FCInterNews.it, Mkhitaryan conceded that he was feeling sore but was happy to have contributed to the victory.

“I have some pain, but I’m OK… I hope I’m OK. The most important thing is that we got three points,” the former Roma player declared.

“Against Udinese it’s always difficult to play and today, as in the first match against them, we had a tough time. We were lucky not to concede the second goal and then it was good that we were able to score ourselves.”

Inter now turn their attention to a meeting with Porto in the Champions League on Wednesday, and Mkhitaryan was expecting a tough encounter against the Portuguese club, whilst he also touched on his good recent form.

“I understand the importance of matches and I do everything I can to recover as much as possible. I’m ready to play all the time, but if I’m on the bench I’ll be rooting for my teammates. The important thing is the team.

“Porto? Winning at home is fundamental. They are strong, I’ve already played against them with Roma and I know they are very tough. In the Champions League there are no easy games.”

Mkhitaryan has made 29 appearances in all competitions for Inter this season, scoring three goals.
